Category Manager (beverage category management exp. req.) Description

Our client, a mission-driven, nationally recognized industry leader, is looking for a Category Manager to oversee their non-alcoholic beverage portfolio. You’ll be responsible for developing and executing category plans and business strategies to maximize revenue and profits. The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert advising on best practices and processes for category development, merchandising, portfolio mix, and pricing strategies. You’ll join their new VP of Category Management during this time of revolution. They are the first in their industry to have true category management teams. There is a lot of unchartered territory from a data standpoint but that’s where it gets exciting. You’ll have a seat at the table during a time of hypergrowth and transformation. You’re going to help pioneer and build on their foundation. Category Manager (beverage category management exp. req.) Responsibilities

• Own non-alcoholic beverage category performance and provide thought leadership
• Develop strong relationships with external partners while aligning on category strategy
• Analyze category performance to develop plans based on opportunities, risks, and innovation
• Leverage and apply category management principes including segmentation and space planning
• Monitor supplier performance, negotiate agreements, and ensure their accountability
• Analyze large data sets in Excel using pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and macros
• Manage SKU rationalization, category assortment, and planogram strategy
• Create growth strategies, pricing recommendations, and merchandising plans
• Develop compelling and actionable insights-led category stories in PPT that usher buy-in
• Work with internal teams to develop Power BI solutions for category analysis and reporting
• Present across all organization levels including C-suite and external stakeholders

Category Manager (beverage category management exp. req.) Qualifications

• 3 years of beverage category management experience required
• Experience overseeing beverages within a retail environment required
• Strong supplier management and negotiations background required
• Advanced analytical and financial prowess required
• Expert Excel skills including pivot tables, macros, and VLOOKUPs required
