Description Our client, a rapidly growing lighting manufacturer, is looking to add a new Project Engineer to their Team in Tinley Park, IL. Our client has had double-digit YoY growth and to keep up with business needs, they’ve created this new position to expand their engineering team. You’ll support product development efforts while overseeing projects from start to finish. These projects have shorter cycles, so you’ll typically oversee 5-10 simultaneously. You’ll spend most of your time verifying specifications and planning product roadmaps to drive projects forward. If you’re looking for a role with more design work and fabrication, this would not be a good fit. However, if you want to build your career in project management with an Engineering Manager who values autonomy and less micro-management, this could be a great fit. Project Engineer – Electrical & Lighting (Entry-Level; Engineering Degree req.) ResponsibilitiesOversee project management for product development and launches
Develop product specifications to meet customer needs and manufacturing goals
Follow product roadmaps to drive projects and maintain schedules
Recommend product ideas, develop prototypes, and obtain approvals.
Maintain product certifications and create data for initial purchase orders
Approve specification sheets, installation instructions, and literature
Organize technical files in a data library and verify product packaging
Attend trade shows, meet with customers, and assist with inventory management
Create operational documentation and assist with certification audits
Conduct product qualification tests and document result.
Organize product samples and assist with product testing request
Project Engineer – Electrical & Lighting (Entry-Level; Engineering Degree req.) QualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering required
Experience working in a professional engineering setting (internships are acceptable)
Able to work onsite in Tinley Park, IL required
