You will be responsible for overseeing the purchasing department and will be instrumental in supporting the company's sales efforts through effective inventory forecasting and material management while aiding in technological advancements within the department. To qualify for this role, you must be a data-driven leader with a proven track record in supply chain management within a fast-paced, dynamic purchasing/procurement environment and skilled at developing cost-effective purchasing strategies. Director Of Purchasing ResponsibilitiesLead and mentor the purchasing team; perform annual staff performance appraisals
Direct training, skill development activities and career path planning for associates
Drive strategic initiatives for procurement and material management
Manage vendor relationships and negotiate cost-effective contracts
Maintain competitive pricing across all vendor lines; pursue cost reductions where possible
Set strategic direction for inventory and replenishment policies, plans and goals
Report on performance metrics versus goals and if corrective actions are being taken
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet business needs while improving fill rates
Verify day-to-day tactical requirements are executed timely, efficiently and with desired impact
Participate actively in leadership meetings and corporate initiatives
Director Of Purchasing Qualifications7 years of purchasing/procurement experience in a fast-paced environment required
Management experience and using data to drive strategic decision-making required
Distribution Experience RequiredERP experience required
Highly proficient with Excel, Power BI and other data analysis tools required
Valid passport or ability to obtain passport is required
