SUMMARY:
Twist Bioscience’s Data Storage group is developing new ways to store digital data in DNA. We are seeking a person to provide support to our technical staff of scientists and engineers.
The Technical Specialist is someone that is comfortable completing a variety of routine tasks during their workday. These tasks involve standard chemistry, molecular biology, and biochemistry workflows. We will train that right individual, but experience as a technician, either in development or manufacturing is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Chemistry: Reagent preparation in fume hood or glovebox and operate analytical chemistry instruments
Molecular Biology: Library preparation for Illumina sequencing and prepare and run samples on Mass Spectrometer
Biochemistry: Operate a variety of liquid handling tools for high throughput screening and run protein purification equipment
EH&S: Support hazardous waste management and Inventory chemicals

The base cash compensation for this California-based role is below. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for bonus, equity, and a generous benefits package. Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate skill, experience, expertise, and location and may vary from the amount listed above. Compensation may be different in other locations.

- Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial experience
- Silicon processing, chemistry or molecular biology bench work preferred
- Ability to stand for long durations, lift 40 pounds, and operate instruments requiring
