Network Data Center Engineer
Overview:

Two Barrels is hiring a Network Data Center Engineer at our facility in Johnston, IA. You will be a traditional company employee. This is a full time 40 hour/week position with company benefits. This position is coded as "Office-Only" which means all work must be performed in our Johnston, IA facility.

$100,000-$120,000 Responsibilities:

• Be a good human
• Provide technical support for network-related issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement solutions promptly
• Collaborate with other IT teams, including system administrators, developers, and security professionals, to ensure cohesive and integrated IT infrastructure
• Conduct capacity planning to ensure that the data center network can support current and future organizational needs
• Plan and execute network upgrades, including hardware and software updates, in coordination with the organization's change management processes
• Monitor network performance and proactively identify and address issues to ensure optimal performance
• Implement performance optimization strategies and recommend upgrades as necessary
• Implement and maintain security measures to protect data center networks from unauthorized access and cyber threats
• Design, plan, and implement data center network architecture to meet the organization's requirements
• Work on the development and implementation of scalable and high-performance network solutions
• Deploy and configure networking hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers within the data center environment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of network components

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3 years of proven experience in a Network Engineer or similar type of role with a focus on data center environments
• BGP experience
• Experience with firewalls and security appliances
• Strong understanding of data center architecture and design principles
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, technologies, and security best practices
• Experience in vendor management
• Experience with scripting and automation of network devices

Preferred Qualifications:

• Extensive experience with data center switching with brocade, fs, juniper and cisco
• Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) and network virtualization technologies
• Experience in a quickly growing environment
