Job Description: As a Registered Nurse specializing in IDD care, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive nursing services to patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Patient Care: Deliver high-quality nursing care tailored to the unique needs of IDD patients.
• Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ health conditions and develop individualized care plans.
• Medication Management: Administer medications and monitor for side effects.
• Coordination: Collaborate with healthcare professionals, caregivers, and families to ensure cohesive and effective care.
• Education: Educate patients, families, and caregivers on health management and treatment plans.
• Advocacy: Advocate for the health and well-being of IDD patients, ensuring they receive appropriate and respectful care.

Requirements:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably with IDD patients.
• Strong knowledge of best practices in caring for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• CPR certification (preferred).
