Job SummaryWe are seeking Senior Bridge Engineers to join TYLin’s Bridge Sector. Our Mid-Atlantic offices are seeking Senior Bridge Engineers for projects including conceptual planning, through design, construction, and completion. The role of Senior Bridge Engineer will be to work with team members and lead sub tasks of large bridge projects or will lead a small/mid-size bridge projects as Project Manager or large size bridge projects as deputy Project Manager. The primary scope of this role is to develop bridge and structure designs for local agencies and design-build clients, deliver projects on time, on budget and with high quality. The role may involve project management and task management aspects as well. This position also supervises junior engineers and intermediate engineers.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Oversee design of concrete and steel bridge structures.
- Design of concrete and steel bridge structures.
- Develop designs, contract plans and specifications.
- Coordinate with and direct CAD production activities for drawing production.
- Conduct quality control activities for independent review and checking of structural designs.
- Interface with civil engineers for development of complete project plans and specifications.
- Develop technical special provisions to accompany construction plans.
- Develop engineering studies, reports and documentation.
- Develop production work plans.
- Oversee and review calculations and designs performed by engineers.
- Manage projects or tasks to ensure delivery on time and budget and with high quality.
- Other assignments as needed.
- PE License in VA and DC
- Bachelor’s degree in civil / structural engineering required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Must have at least 10 years of structural design experience in bridges and related structures. Project management experience will be plus.
- Ability to perform advanced structural analysis and designs. Experience in CSI Bridge is a plus.
- Familiarity with AASHTO design and standards preferred.
- Proficient in leading technical aspects of bridge projects, writing reports, preparing drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations.
- Must possess excellent technical and communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.
