GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

• Tyonek Services Group is providing full on-site / off-site maintenance flight/Functional Check Flight operations to support the US Army Flight Test Directorate AFTD at Redstone Arsenal, AL. The support will be conducted in accordance with current Army directives, including but not limited to, AR 95-1 and AR 95-20.
• Areas for support to be provided include completion of all maintenance test flights on AFTD aircraft, fault isolation and troubleshooting, and management of internal contractor pilot and non-rated crewmember flight records.

DUTIES:

• Must be able to perform Instructor duties of Flight Instructor.
• Must be qualified as an Aircraft Mechanic Level II.
• Meet all requirements, as a non-rated crewmember IAW with service guidance for specific design, type, series aircraft which duties are to be performed.
• Perform all duties and responsibilities as a crew-chief.
• Perform in-flight duties and assists the pilots, consistent with established Service or FAA standards.
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• FAA A&P license preferred or must have completed a military aircraft repairer school for H-60 series or UH-72
• Minimum of 7 years' experience in Army aviation maintenance or 4 years of verifiable RDT&E experience in rotary wing aircraft Army Aviation maintenance is required
• Must have Military installation DEPOT level maintenance experience
• Must hold a valid, current FAA or military Class III Medical Certificate, as prescribed by the Government.
• Must meet minimum flight hour requirements as crew- chief as specified in AR 95-20.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must have or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance

• Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.

• Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
• May be required to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances.
• May be required to read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
• Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
• Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
• Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
• May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, APU, etc.
