Job Description:
As a Yard Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for the upkeep and beautification of outdoor spaces, ensuring they are clean, safe, and visually appealing. Your primary duties will include mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, planting flowers, watering plants, removing weeds, and maintaining overall landscape aesthetics. Additionally, you will be expected to perform routine maintenance on yard equipment and tools to ensure their proper functioning. Your attention to detail and dedication to maintaining high-quality outdoor environments will contribute to the overall satisfaction of our clients or organization.

Responsibilities:

• Mow lawns using lawn mowers and trim edges using trimmers.
• Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges to maintain desired shape and size.
• Plant flowers, trees, and shrubs according to landscape designs or specifications.
• Water plants, flowers, and grass regularly and adjust watering schedules as necessary.
• Remove weeds manually or using appropriate tools and apply pesticides or fertilizers as needed.
• Clean outdoor spaces by removing debris, leaves, and other litter.
• Perform routine maintenance on yard equipment and tools, such as sharpening blades and lubricating moving parts.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and projects.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Maintain records of work performed and report any issues or concerns to supervisors.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in yard maintenance or landscaping.
• Proficiency in operating lawn mowers, trimmers, and other yard equipment.
• Knowledge of plant care techniques, including watering, pruning, and fertilizing.
• Ability to identify common weeds, pests, and diseases and take appropriate measures for control.
• Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and aesthetics.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Basic understanding of safety procedures and practices related to yard maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in landscaping or horticulture.
• Experience operating heavy machinery, such as tractors or bulldozers.
• Knowledge of sustainable landscaping practices.
• Familiarity with irrigation systems and their maintenance.
• Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish or other languages commonly spoken in the community.

Pay Rate:

• $50.00 per treated house.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
