Under the direction of the Logistics Manager, you will be instrumental in processing, planning, tracking and handling shipment exceptions supporting Purchasing, Customer Service, and U-Haul Field entities, and any related projects.

Duties :

• Logistical collaboration and support with carriers, U-Haul field personnel, retail teams, origin, and destination operations teams to solve shipment delivery issues.
• Manage shipment tracking, defect and exception management in coordination with transportation service providers across Small Package, LTL, FTL, Ocean, Rail and Cross-Border movements.
• Freight cost and allocation research.
• Load planning, scheduling, tracking, and auditing.
• Carrier freight claim program research, filing and resolution on behalf of U-Haul.

• Develop, execute, and improve operations procedures with strong disciplines and establishing best practices.

Skills / Knowledge :

• Must be proficient in spreadsheet entry and reporting.
• Experience with automated self-service reporting tools, internal U-Haul programs and external carrier and TMS systems.
• Experience using data to drive root cause elimination and process improvement.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated experience independently managing tasks and ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize, problem solve, plan, and organize. Impeccable attention to detail is essential.

Education / Training Requirements :

Either working toward college degree or Associate’s degree in business, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or other business related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience :

Must have 1 year experience in business, accounting or transportation / logistics field.
