U.S. Army Cyber Command is Hiring a Security Specialist Near Pittsburg, KS

Major Duties
  • Serves as the Regional NEC Security Specialist. Responsible for the implementation of Personnel Security, Information Security, Physical Security, Operations Security (OPSEC), Crime Prevention, Anti-terrorism, and Force Protection.
  • Administers all security programs in accordance with current laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Determines physical security requirements for secure areas, vaults, and classified TOP SECRET and SECRET open storage facilities.
  • Coordinates clearance access rosters; passes clearances for assigned personnel with travel requirements to appropriate Security Manager(s)/Representatives.
  • Receives requests for security clearances and evaluates the sensitivity classification of the positions which require a security clearance.
  • As the Crime Prevention Officer, manages the NEC Crime Prevention Program.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one (1) year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized Experience is defined as experience which includes administering established Information and Personnel security programs; AND performing security investigations and analysis. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11). Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
