U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command - Security Specialist - Kunia, Hawaii

Summary About the Position : This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.

S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the INSCOM, 780th Military Intelligence Brigade, 782d Military Intelligence Battalion, DET-HI, in Kunia, Hawaii.

Responsibilities :

  • Serves as a senior Security Specialist in support of the 780th Military Intelligence Brigade (CYBER).
  • May serve in the 781st Military Intelligence Battalion, 782d Military Intelligence Battalion, 782d Detachment, or Operations Support Element as the Subject Matter Expert to the Commander.
  • Serves as a technical specialist for security education and training (SEAT) as defined by DOD, HQDA, Deputy Chief of Staff G-2 and HQ, INSCOM.
  • Interprets new policies for application throughout the command and conducts inspections to ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines.
  • Manages one or more security programs, including but not limited to, Personnel, Information, Physical and Communications Security, Sensitive Compartmented (SCI) facilities, and Security Education, Training and Awareness programs.

Qualifications : To qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.

g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community;

student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

Specialized Experience : At least one (1) year of experience equivalent to at least the GG / GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which prepared you to do the work in this job.

  • Specialized experience is defined as developing, planning, overseeing, administering, managing, implementing, and / or enforcing one or more of the intelligence-related security disciplines;
  • utilizing a wide range of policies, concepts, principles, and regulations to independently review, analyze and resolve difficult and complex security problems;

and coordinating the development, implementation, and evaluation of security programs of assigned program area with proponent agencies / activities.

Additional Information : Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.

This is a Career Program (CP) 35 - General Intelligence position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement.

Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances may be authorized, subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations and an agency determination that a PCS move is in the Government Interest.
