    US Citizens currently residing within the commuting area of Chievres AB, Belgium (not ordinarily resident in Belgium). US resident alien family members of US sponsors who are citizens of NATO countries other than Belgium and possess a valid green card and US Social Security Number (SSN).     Duties
    • Supervises a staff of 3-12 employees. Assigns and Reviews work assignments on a daily, weekly or longer basis.
    • Applies a practical knowledge of recreational activities and skills in the use of recreation materials and facilities.
    • Works in executing recreation events, programs, and services to meet the recreational needs of a diverse patronage, including a variety of multi-disciplinary events.
    • Recommends items of supplies, materials, refreshments and equipment needed for program functions.
    • Assures that proper security measures are taken to safeguard monies, property, equipment and facilities.
    RequirementsConditions of Employment

    • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
    • A probation period of one year may be required.
    • Possesses satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13, to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
    • Successfully complete a health screening. Immunizations required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility.
    QualificationsWork experience that provided a knowledge of the goals, principles, methods, and techniques of recreation OR a bachelor's degree with a major study (24 semester hours) in general recreation or physical education. (Note: Work experience must be equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the NF-02 level).
    • Must have knowledge of a wide range of recreation and sports activities, organization and structure of military units and installation sports program objectives, policies, methods and procedures to plan, organize, and coordinate activities, assist, guide and motivate military staff in carrying out their -responsibilities.
    • Must have a basic understanding of budget and supply functions in order to prepare input and justification of funding of supplies and equipment.

    Allowances and Differentials
    • Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).     • Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
    PCS Costs
    • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
    Foreign Overseas Allowances
    • If determined eligible, Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) will not be paid in accordance with the Department of States Standardized Regulations (DSSR).
    • Post Allowance may be paid in accordance with the Department of States Standardized Regulations (DSSR).
