Job DescriptionU.S. Bancorp Corporate Tax is seeking an experienced tax professional to join our team and support our investments in Renewable Energy, Affordable Housing, New Markets, and Historic tax credit partnership structures. The Sr. Tax Analyst will collaborate cross functionally with product teams on investments and will be responsible for the review of partnership tax returns. The candidate will partner with the Corporate Tax team to support the U.S. Bank federal and state tax returns, quarterly estimated tax payments, and provision processes. The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail with an ability to analyze complex partnership tax adjustments.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Tax Managers on effective strategies to meet critical reporting deadlines throughout the calendar year (quarterly, semiannually, and annually)
  • Perform first or second review of partnership tax returns received from managers of partnership investments
  • Prepare and/or review complex partnership tax return workpapers used in the consolidated federal return preparation, calculation of quarterly estimated tax payments, and provision calculations.
  • Assist Tax Managers with drafting responses to regulatory authorities related to partnership calculation inquiries as necessary
  • Ensure financial controls around workpaper preparation are operating effectively
  • Maintain accounting systems and procedures including designing, testing and implementing design changes to current process
  • Conduct research relating to federal and state partnership tax principles
  • Assists with maintaining department training, provide training and guidance to other team members and business lines
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Seven or more years of related experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Partnership tax experience
  • Excellent accounting, tax accounting, mathematical, and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to identify and resolve exceptions and to analyze data
  • Advanced knowledge of government and regulatory laws and regulations
  • Advanced knowledge of financial analysis, forecasting, and planning

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $83,810.00 - $98,600.00 - $108,460.00
