Duties This position is located in the U.S. Capitol Police
(USCP), Office of the Assistant Chief of Police for Protective and Intelligence
Operations, Security Services Bureau (SSB), Physical Security Division (PSD), System
Operations Section (SOS).
The incumbent of this position serves as technical
expert in the programming and operational aspects of a variety of security
systems including video analytics and other artificial intelligence (AI)
systems designed to augment the Department's security posture.
Major duties and responsibilities includes:
Administering and maintaining video
management systems, specifically pertaining to video analytics, ensuring
optimal performance and reliability.
Configuring and optimizing advanced
video analytics algorithms to extract valuable insights from video data.
Collaborating with cross-functional
teams to integrate video analytics solutions into existing security and
operational workflows.
Monitoring system performance and
troubleshooting issues in real-time, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum
efficiency.
Staying abreast of emerging trends and
technologies in video analytics and surveillance to continuously enhance our
systems and capabilities.
Providing training and support to
end-users on video analytics tools and functionalities.

Must complete a one year probationary period.
Must be available to perform emergency operation duties outside your realm of expertise.
Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.
To qualify at the CP-10 grade level,
you must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience that is equivalent to
the CP-09/GS-11 grade level. Such experience must have demonstrated knowledge,
skills, and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the
position.
Such
specialized experience is defined as:
- Proven experience in administering video surveillance systems, preferably with expertise in video analytics.
- Proficiency in video analytics software and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to extract meaningful insights from large volumes of video data.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
To qualify at the CP-11 grade level,
you must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience that is equivalent to
the CP-10/GS-12 grade level. Such experience must have demonstrated knowledge,
skills, and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the
position.
Such specialized experience is defined
as:
- Professional experience developing and defining parameters for advanced computer-based technology in video analytics and artificial intelligence systems.
- Strong leadership ability to coordinate operating elements pertaining to video analytics and artificial intelligence security program issues and functions.
- Skill in analyzing, evaluating, and identifying gaps to mitigate physical security system risks.
Desirable skills and certifications:
- Skill using Python (a high-level programming language)
- Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Certifications
- Video Analytics and Computer Vision Certifications

Education There is no education substitution for experience in this series and/or grade.
Although not required, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field is desirable.
