U.S Committee for Refugees & Immigrants is Hiring an Interpreter - Erie Near Erie, PA
OverviewThe Interpreter reports directly to the Field Office Director. The Interpreter is responsible for listening to, understanding, and translating spoken or written statements from one language to another.
USCRI has a mandatory COVID-19 vaccine policy. All employees must be fully vaccinated to work at any / all locations at USCRI.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Facilitate effective communication between two parties that do not speak a similar language by converting one spoken or written language to another;
- Interpreters maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality to protect clients' privacy at all times;
- Conform to all rules and regulations of the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants;
- Attend continuing education training, as recommended; and
- Perform other job related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Position Requirements
- Bilingual/Multilingual ability is required; and
- Demonstrated support of USCRI’s values by exhibiting respect for others, maintenance of confidential information and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace.
- Proof of COVID-19 Vaccine required.
- Satisfactory completion of USCRI’s Orientation and Training;
- Complete additional training as identified by supervisor or Human Resources.
- Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity;
- Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands;
- Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying; and
- Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements).
