This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office of Administration (OA), Human Resources Division (HRD), Personnel and Physical Security Branch (PPSB). OA provides building and emergency management, resource provision and multi-media services to OJP offices.

Responsibilities

• This position serves as a Personnel Security Specialist located in the Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office of Administration (OA), Human Resources Division (HRD), Personnel and Physical Security Branch (PPSB).
• Initiates public trust and national security investigations.
• Applies security policy, procedures, systems, and program.
• Approves requests for security clearances, evaluating the sensitivity classification of the position by approved need-to know principles and pertinent security guidelines in the absence of the security program managers.
• Reviews findings from pre-screening interviews and security appointments for personnel security investigations which are extremely delicate and complex, requiring the use of highly sensitive and complex methods and techniques.
