U.S. Department of Justice is Hiring a Program Analyst (Data Analytics) (Temporary Promotion NTE 9-30-25) Near Salt Lake, UT

Summary
This Temporary Promotion opportunity position is located in the Department of Justice, Justice Management Division (JMD), Human Resources (HR) Director, Strategic Workforce Planning. Serves as an expert advisor to the Director of HR and to the CHCO on data analytics associated with HR systems conducting data analysis, identifying trends, and formulating recommendations to achieve the mission.
Conversion to permanent promotion may be made without further competition, upon budget availability.

The duties and responsibilities of a Program Analyst (Data Analytics), generally include, but are not limited to, the following:
Conduct data analysis, identify trends and formulate recommendations for achieving organization mission and program objectives.
Interprets data on workforce and organization related issues, i.e. human capital strategic planning, workforce planning and analysis, organization restructuring and human capital benchmarking.
Research and designs presentations and interpretations of analytical outputs.
Uses tools to transform, combine, and clean data in preparation for analysis.
Presents results of quantitative analyses to technical and non-technical audiences.
Represents JMD Human Resources Staff in high-level Agency strategic human capital management meetings.
Plans and establishes an organizational analysis program that encompasses extremely large, difficult, and diverse projects.
Conducts skill needs analysis and employment data (e.g., attrition, age, education; potential labor pool) of DOJ workforce.
Uses a variety of data collection techniques to analyze data, develop automated decision support tools, and collect feedback for users and other stakeholders.

You must successfully pass a security/background investigation and a drug screening.
You must be a current permanent Department of Justice employee with competitive status or a CTAP/RPL eligible candidate.
You must meet all applicable time-in-grade requirements by the closing of this announcement.

Qualifications
To qualify for the position of Program Analyst (Data Analytics) (Temporary Promotion NTE 9-30-25), (GS-0343-14), you must possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade.
If you are a current Department of Justice employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF50 (please refer to the "required documents" section for additional information).
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or equivalent band in the Federal service, which includes: 1) chart typologies, mapping stories to appropriate chart types; 2) quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques; 3) data collection, integration, and retention requirements.
