The individual will assist in directing the provision of research education and regulatory compliance assessment for each study and patient record. The Nurse is responsible for the following:

Duties
The individual will assist in directing the provision of research education and regulatory compliance assessment for each study and patient record. The Nurse is responsible for the following:
- Present demonstration of MUSC/CITI IRB test certificate and IT Security Training. Complete Research Coordinator Training. Research nurses who have not completed a Project Coordinator training course must present alternative preparation to the Associate Nurse Executive for Research for approval.
- Supervise daily operations of research protocols and project activities and respond to direction of the Principal Investigator {Pl).
- Contribute to management of the research budget as indicated by the Pl.
- Participate in and monitor data collection with accuracy, veracity, integrity, and dependability, following protocol with fidelity and protecting human subjects as per institutional agreements.
- Write research summaries, project reports, or segments of proposals together with the Pl and research team as requested.
- Manage submission and sponsored project applications, audits, and review processes in collaboration with the Pl and other members of the research team.
- Serve as a liaison to member or sponsor institutions, research bases, clinical staff, and research staff.
- Coordinate and oversee the database system.
- Function as a research nurse, contributing to literature searches, subject recruitment, subject consent, availability for daily operations with subjects, assuring data or subject safety, security, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Demonstrate high degree of planning, surveillance, organization, attention to details, and problem-solving in the conduct of project duties.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and an understanding of the research process.
- Exhibit competent and sensitive interpersonal communication skills that produce credibility with other institutional staff, satisfaction and retention with study subjects, and cooperation in research projects.
- Exhibit skills and experience using Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database software as required.
- Experience is GU preferred.

Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) Exception: Candidates who otherwise meet the basic education requirements, but do not possess the required licensure, may be appointed at the entry step of the grade and level applicable to the completed nursing education as a GNT on a 120-day temporary appointment while actively pursuing licensure (may be extended up to two years on a case-by-case-basis.)
