SummaryThe New Mexico VA Healthcare Network is recruiting for a Supervisory Social Worker assigned to the HUD-VASH program. The incumbent will be responsible for supervision, oversight, and coordination of the HUD-VASH program including data management and monitoring of HUD-VASH metrics, reporting progress on local and national goals, and providing regular education to staff in order to ensure understanding and achievement of local and national goals.

Basic Requirements:
Grade Determinations: You must possess one year of experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. Examples of specialized experience include, but are not limited to: Serving as a full assistant to the chief social work service for both administrative and professional practice of a small to moderately complex social work service within a healthcare organization; responsible for supporting clinical practice, program management, education, human resource management and supervision, and organizational stewardship for the social work program per the direction of the chief. Experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills in administration, demonstrating progressively more professional competency skills and judgment.
In addition to the experience above, you must demonstrate the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Preferred Experience: Program management within the VA.

Duties
Duties include but not limited:
- Facilitate regular team meetings to provide clinical guidance and oversight of direct-care services, provided to a complex and vulnerable veteran population.
- Oversee data collection and administrative record keeping, and monitors patient or program clinical indicators, thresholds, and performance measurements.
- Provide clinical education and direction to ensure appropriate assessment and treatment planning is completed for all Veterans within the HUD-VASH program.
- Provide orientation and on-going training for interdisciplinary team members and directs the educational programming offered to Social Work interns within the HUD-VASH program.
- Conduct and participate in outreach activities including field interviews, assessments and referrals for homeless veterans contacted in the community, shelters, and "on the streets," as well as those who are referred by VA residential programs, medical centers or outpatient clinics.

Basic Requirements:
- United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- Education: Master's degree in social work (MSW) from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy do not meet this requirement until the school of social work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for master's degree in social work.
- Licensure: Must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure.

- Ability to delegate authority, manage priorities, coordinate work, and follow up on pending issues to complete duties in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Ability to analyze organizational and operational problems, develop and implement solutions that result in efficient operations, and use data effectively to manage workload, quality, performance, and productivity within the service.
- Ability to provide staff training and development.
