DutiesSummaryDFC ranked a Best Places to Work in 2022. Unpaid internships with DFC are offered year round in Washington, D.C., and can last from 12 weeks to 12 months. Duties vary based on the department and/or office in which the intern is placed. DFC's Internship Program offers valuable experience that contributes to educational and professional growth, and may be applied in any future employment endeavor, including federal, state and local governments or in the private sector.
RequirementsQualificationsApplicants must be U.S. citizens enrolled at least part-time in an accredited college or university in an undergraduate program. The ideal candidate should have a concentration in business, economics, international relations, development policy, or other related subjects. Strong written, research and oral communication skills are required. Strong ability with programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required. Successful completion of a background investigation is also required. Some knowledge of and/or experience in project and corporate finance, and specific sectors and countries is desirable but not required. Individuals with initiative and the ability to work independently are preferred.
