U.S. Navy Reserves is Hiring an EDUCATION & TRAINING SPECIALIST Near Orleans, LA

Duties
  • You will work with a team of four to six military personnel on curriculum development, maintenance, course designing and redesigning.
  • You will support programs relating to the training and advancement of department members.
  • You will develop, deliver and maintain curricula for NRPDC courses in accordance with NETC guidance including NAVEDTRA 130, 135, and 136 regulations.
  • You will maintain quality assurance of training within prescribed standards through review of training methodologies, classroom monitoring, instructor evaluation, and inspection of publications, training aids, and training programs.
  • You will evaluate and review training course critiques and assess their validity to determine effectiveness and quality8 of the NRPDC courses as well as assess the needs and suitability of the courses and instructors.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. 5%
QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience developing, delivering, and maintaining curricula for training courses in accordance with NETC guidance. Experience developing, initiating schoolhouse training material for effectiveness, supportability, maintainability and instructional capability of training systems and programs. Experience planning, analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating life cycle maintenance (PADDIE M), new and existing training courses and training programs/systems across training courses. Experience with cognitive and adult learning theory, and evidence-based practices to produce performance-based training solutions. Experience providing training solutions. Experience with authoring tools and other productivity software applications developing training for a variety of delivery models such as instructor-led training (ILT), e-learning, and interactive courseware, providing technical guidance to junior curriculum developers involved in Instructional System Development (ISD) projects.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
master's or equivalent graduate degree
or2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
orLL.B. or J.D., if related
NOTE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable.
Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grades GS-9 and GS-11.
