U.S. Small Business Administration is Hiring an Outreach and Marketing Specialist Near Montpelier, VT

SummaryThis position is located in the Small Business Administration, Office of Field Operations - Region I in Montpelier, VT. The OMS provides oversight of SBA program grantees and Resource Partners to include compliance reviews, site visits, and other monitoring activities, and the work involves extensive planning and knowledge, and decision making on the full spectrum of complexities found in OMS support functions.
Duties
  • Build and maintain a local network of collaborative partnerships: economic development practitioners in Federal, state, regional and local government, chambers of commerce, business and trade associations, financial institutions, educational institutions and civic/community organizations.
  • Represent the SBA at a variety of public functions through outreach/presentations/trainings in order to educate the small business, lender and contracting community about SBA programs and services, and other small business-relevant topics.
  • Participate in or lead projects to accomplish outreach events and will be expected to collaborate with others on the team and other resources to ensure that the projects are successful.
  • Conduct advising and training on SBA programs.
  • Field technical representative responsible for compliance oversight of SBA district office customers.
Position includes Local Market Duties of Public Information Officer (PIO) and Social Media.
  • The PIO must work collaboratively with District/Region staff to enhance relationships with press and other organizations to leverage media opportunities.
  • Social Media: Develops, manages and applies digital design strategies, social media outreach covering, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, SBA Daily and Gov Delivery.

QualificationsGS-12: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector, which includes:
  • Developing marketing strategy for programs and services for growth and development of a customer base.
  • Developing and delivering outreach, training, presentations, and education on a variety of business management, financial management or lending topics related to small business.
  • Building and managing collaborative alliances and partnerships with a variety of business development partners.
