The Senior Credit and Collections Specialist coordinates the credit services function, makes informed credit decisions based on detailed analysis, and reports key credit services information to management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : The essential duties and responsibilities of this job are included but not limited to this job description other tasks may be assigned and expected to be performed.

  • Determines overdue customer accounts for contact according to degree and amount of delinquency and makes collection calls.
  • Conduct accounts receivable reviews and meetings.
  • Coordinates collection activities and ensures cash is applied timely and accurately to customer accounts.
  • Monitors delinquency status of international accounts and follows up as necessary to keep accounts current.
  • Releases orders as necessary on a timely basis and researched and resolves issues as they arise.
  • Places delinquent accounts for third party collections.
  • Makes informed decisions regarding credit approval for new and existing customer accounts; analyzes account and financial information to determine financial strength, establish credit lines.
  • Prepares reports for senior management of accounts receivable figures.
  • Reviews open receivables with Manager and presents issues along with potential solutions as necessary.
  • Addresses issues noted per review of aging on a timely basis.
  • Determines bad debt reserve by compiling a list of potential bad debt losses.
  • Ensures debit and credit account adjustments are made timely and accurately.
  • Performs other tasks, functions and projects as assigned

Requirements :

  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three (3) or more years of related experience. Accounting background is a plus.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook required.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize work based on deadlines with high attention to detail.
