What You’ll DoResolves customer service issues or complaints, ensures proper driver and equipment utilization, and maintains timely shipment pick-up and delivery specifications to meet customer needs and demands. Tracks and works with accounts to receive all assigned lanes and commitment levels from all shipping locations.
Customer Service
Solicit freight orders from assigned customer base via a multitude of communication exchanges on assigned schedule days, commensurate with company and business level needs.
Schedule/reschedule pick up /delivery appointments for all tendered loads from assigned customers.
Develop and maintain strong customer service relationships to generate the highest level of freight order volume for assigned customers.
Monitor available communication exchanges continuously for receipt of freight load orders to accept available loads
Contact customer(s) proactively providing shipment status updates.Seek alternate solutions with available resources in the event of a service deviation including change of pick up or delivery appointments.
Inform customer(s) of the status of shipments including in some cases updating the customer web sites or EDI exchanges. Since many accounts have specific requirements search for alternate coverage or other solutions with in customers’ requirements to prevent service failure.
Record and notate customer complaints during schedule shifts. Remedy complaints using resources available during schedule shift.Make sure to include very detailed information to account management of all customer complaints.
Review drivers hours prior to accepting freight to confirm on time service. Based on customer SOP.
Enter new customers properly into system. Including gate locations, directions as well as location polygons.
Load planner
Match freight loads with the optimal driver base and customer needs within the dedicated account covering during scheduled shift.
Review loads prior to assigning to ensure driver have hours of service under DOT regulations requirements.
Review drivers have the proper trailer type for loading. If not locate the needed equipment.
Unassign and reassign loads to prevent service failure or minimize service failure impact.
When loads are reassign, minimize empty miles while developing and implementing an efficient transportation solution for the customer and USX.
Fleet management
Answering all incoming calls. Deal with each issue until resolved.
Monitor and update all driver messages and boards of assigned fleets for current schedule shift.
Track and trace all trucks to ensure all pickup and deliveries are on time.
If missing macros contact drivers for correct information.
Repower loads within customer guidelines
Assist drivers with lumper fees.
Assist driver with proper permits
Assist drivers with alternate travel means such as cab, umber or greyhound.
Reseat drivers if available equipment to prevent service issue and reduction in drivers pay.
Assist drivers with any emergency home time request.
Research driver payroll when time permits. Including locating copies of BOL’s and pay information. Reporting to drivers account manager and account supervisor.
Assist drivers with advances within company guidelines.
Maintain current and proper dispatch to ensure that all miles are accounted for based on particular account SOP and USX policy.
Notify fleet maintenance of any trailer repairs at customer location
Assist drivers in locating correct contacts for customer owned trailers needing repairs
Develop sense of trust and integrity with driver.
Weekday assignment
Be prepared to fill in for any account supervisor.
During that, time responsibility can include scheduling BPM, setting up random or coordinating home times. Cannot do EVE events.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking ForEducation
Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required. Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested.
ExperienceMinimum of 0-2 years’ in-depth high volume field operational experience required (depends on location/account).
Skills/Certifications
Superior analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Extreme patience dealing with volatile situations; strong follow-up procedures.
Comprehensive knowledge of DOT regulations impacting daily operations.
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
Strategic and innovative thinker with proven leadership and problem solving skills.
