As an Engineer - Injection Molding requires that you will research, plan, design and develop mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines. This role is in Johns Creek, GA and a typical day will include: Developing, designing, installing, commissioning, qualifying, validating and optimizing complex and innovative injection molding equipment in compliance with Good Practice (GxP) procedures Communicating and coordinating with internal/external vendors during the implementation, commissioning, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) Providing support as needed in generating required technical documents including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training manuals, and protocols per GxP guidelines Completing tasks efficiently and working together with other departments to achieve common and overarching project goals (e.g. landmark, budget, etc.) Executing engineering studies and DOEs, review results with the team Troubleshooting and correcting issues related to injection molding equipment and process Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Injection Molding process What You’ll Bring to Alcon: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school 8 yrs;Assoc. 4 yrs) The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English Preferred Qualifications: Hands-on experience in Injection Molding, Process Development & Troubleshooting Knowledge in molding plastic and silicon parts Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite Organizational and time management skills Experience with CAD Software (e.g. SOLIDWORKS,…) Degree in Plastics-, Mechanical-, Process Engineering How You Can Thrive at Alcon: Join Alcon’s mission to provide outstanding, innovative products and solutions to improve sight, improve lives, and grow your career!
