We are currently hiring a Technical Associate VI – Manufacturing for our sunny Irvine, California site. As a Technical Associate VI - Manufacturing, you are responsible for unleashing the full potential of our people and culture while simultaneously achieving timely and cost-effective manufacturing of high-quality medical devices. This position is responsible for the manufacturing, assembly, and test of complex electromechanical products, accessories, and consumables within the surgical instrumentation organization. This position performs highly skilled assembly effectively flexing across multiple areas within line or across lines and provides leadership serving as a subject matter expert and mentor, demonstrating initiative and ownership of product line performance, and collaborating across functions and levels.

In this role, a typical day will include: 

  • On time arrival to work, regular attendance without excessive absenteeism, and working a full 9-hour work period.
  • Meets individual and team performance goals as defined in annual objectives.
  • Safety & Environment: Adheres to all EHS rules and requirements working safely and taking adequate control measures in preventing injuries to self and others. Adheres to EHS rules and requirements for protection of environment and prevention of pollution under own span of influence/control.
  • Training & Flexibility: Passes all job-specific training or certifications required for core tasks and/or specialized assignments in a timely manner. Retains and incorporates training coursework in the performance of new and advanced work procedures demonstrating proficiency across most areas of the line or multiple lines. Proactively flexes across the business to meet the business need.
  • Compliance: Reviews, follows, and performs job functions in compliance with established work instructions and adherence with SOPs. Records traceable information on device history records, test data sheets, SAP, etc. Ensures individual and team compliance through completing training, calibration and maintenance activities, and other compliance related activities in a timely manner and ensuring general area audit readiness.
  • Production Output & Quality: Performs highly skilled work including complex product line assembly and test functions effectively across most areas of the line or multiple lines working at the established pace and in alignment with peers completing required daily outputs with expected quality levels. Serves as a subject matter expert, demonstrates initiative and ownership of product line performance, and positively influences team capabilities and individual technical abilities. Collaborates across functions and levels. Tasks may include but are not limited to:
  • Performs line clearance (i.e., cleaning, and sanitizing workstations at the start of the shift and when transitioning to next work orders). Performs inventory reconciliation at start of day and when transitioning to next work order. Inspects machinery and reports any faults to management and workers. Ensures the required materials are available for production and that the factory is safe for all workers.
  • Sets-up, loads materials, and runs a variety of manufacturing equipment to produce device components and/or sterile finished products, including equipment set-up and/or in-process adjustments to ensure appropriate settings and parameters to achieve product design and quality specifications.
