UAB Health System is Hiring a CLINICAL SIMULATION EQUIPMENT TECH Near Birmingham, AL

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a CLINICAL SIMULATION EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN to support the simulation mission of improving patient care through appropriate use of simulation equipment and supplies. To provide technician support in all areas of simulation. This position is housed within the Office of Interprofessional Simulation on the UAB campus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prepares and maintains lab equipment and materials related to simulation. Programs software to model simulator.
  2. s ets up and cleans up rooms in preparation for various simulations. Works closely with clinical simulation specialists and course directors in coordinating simulations. May be assigned multiple sites, so must maintain expertise in equipment and supplies in all sites.
  3. Troubleshoots immediate issues with simulation equipment and all other equipment used in relation to the simulations. Provides routine maintenance, upkeep and cleaning of all simulation equipment.
  4. Assists in training faculty/facilitators in the use of simulation equipment under the direction of the Clinical Simulation Specialist Senior or Associate Director.
  5. Develops and maintains equipment inventory and maintenance records. Schedules maintenance as appropriate to minimize disruption to simulation event calendar.
  6. Maintains current knowledge of simulation equipment catalogs and operation manuals. Provides recommendations on equipment, supplies and materials related to simulation. May attend conferences to stay current with simulation technology.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned.

(Hourly Rate: $18.85 - $19.50)

Bachelor's degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
