UAB Medical West Hospital is Hiring a CRNA | Anesthesiology | Full Time Near Bessemer, AL

DutiesUnder the direction of the Chief CRNA, the Nurse Anesthetist is responsible for providing Anesthesia services to meet the needs of patients as ordered by Medical Staff. Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of adult and pediatric anesthesia and all of its components.
  • Administers anesthesia and analgesia in a safe and effective method.
  • Maintains and cares for equipment and supplies used within the department.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of infection control policies and procedures.
  • Maintains professional competency and expertise through participation in and attendance of professional meetings, hospital staff development programs, and continuing education courses.
  • Conducts pre-operative evaluations and post-operative visits as directed in the policy and procedure manual and ensures these evaluations are conducted in a professional manner and documented appropriately.
  • Provides necessary follow-up for any anesthesia-related complication.
  • Maintains accurate and proper records for controlled substances.
Must be licensed as a Certified Registered Nurse of Anesthesia (CRNA) with the Alabama State Board of Nursing and current certification issued by the National Board of Certification (NBCRNA). Must have a current American Heart Association approved certification in BLS, ACLS and PALS.
