UAB Medicine is Hiring a Senior Payroll Services Coordinator - Finance Near Birmingham, AL
Position DescriptionSchedule Monday-Friday Day Shift
Location: John Whitaker Building
Leads the technical, functional, and analytical support for employees and departments regarding the payroll related processing, operations, and systems to ensure timely, accurate computation and processing of payroll information. Leads employees/departments with problems and communicates with technical support to resolve issues. Also responsible for submitting Lawson and Kronos job requests with required parameters for all payrolls from the loading of non-exempt time to the production of checks and direct deposit file. Ensures compliance with departmental, institutional, local, state and federal agency guidelines. Assists, trains, provides manager feedback on work knowledge and gaps of payroll coordinator and customer specialist. Serves as back-up and assists Payroll Manager in his/her absence or as needed.

Position RequirementsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and seven (7) years of payroll, human resource, finance, or related experience required.
Preferred: Experience preferred with Lawson and Kronos software packages.
License, Certification And/Or RegistrationRequired: None

Must be able to: (1) perform a variety of duties often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure; (2) accept responsibility for the direction, control and planning of an one’s own work; (3) work independently; (4) recognize the rights and responsibilities of patient confidentiality; (5) recognize the rights and responsibilities of employee confidentiality (6) relate to others in a manner which creates a sense of teamwork and cooperation; (7) communicate effectively with people from every socioeconomic, cultural and educational background; (8) exhibit flexibility and cope effectively in an ever-changing, fast-paced healthcare environment; (9) perform effectively when confronted with stressful or emergent situations; (10) demonstrate the quality work ethic of doing the right thing the right way; and (11) maintain a customer focus and strive to satisfy the customer's perceived needs.
