JOB SUMMARY:

The HR Specialist reports to the Head of Human Resources and is responsible for assisting in managing the Recruitment, Onboarding, Inductions and Training of employees The successful candidate must be able to work in an extremely fast-paced environment, requiring a high degree of independent judgment and a people person.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS& ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Supports the Head of HR in the execution of the Bank’s People Strategy.

Assist in managing the end-to-end processes involved in Recruitment, Onboarding, Induction and, Training

Supports the Head of HR in developing and executing human resources policies and procedures. Provide guidance and interpretation for staff.

Participate in development of HR objectives and system, including metrics, queries, and ongoing reports for the Bank.

Supports the Head of HR in administering benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs.

Coordinates the semi-annual Performance Appraisal under the supervision of the Head of HR.

Facilitates the development and execution of the Annual Training Plan.

Contributes to the development and execution of all employee engagement initiatives.

Suggests new procedures and policies for improving employee experience as well as the efficiency of Human Resources and the Bank ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and applicable employment laws.

Manage the development of the annual Leave Plan, tracks employee attendance and vacation schedule; manages the scheduling when applicable.

Prioritizes conflicting needs; handles matter expeditiously, proactively, and follows through on projects to successful completion with set parameters.

Facilitates the development and rendition of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports to Management.

Complies with all Labor laws, Policies and regulatory requirements, adheres to the Bank’s Code of Conduct, attends regular periodic training on core Bank policies, and reports any known or suspected violations of the Code of Conduct to UBA AMERICA management.

Manages bi-monthly bank meeting including scheduling, minutes and provide other administrative support such as organize company events such as Christmas/End of the year functions and TGIF events.

Manages various departmental correspondence including internal and external.

As required support recruitment of all new hires, including full-time interns, temporary and consultants, including job posting, scheduling interviews etc.

Coordinates of various training programs for the bank

Supports the Head of HR with document preparation for compliance with internal and external audits.

Work directly with Head, HR, and Group HR on staff performance appraisal

Assist with HR vendors relationship communication process vendor invoices and ensures that all HR related invoices are processed timely.

Conducts Vendor Risk for HR vendors and ensures up to date files are maintained.

Performs variety of special assignments at the direction of the Head, HR.

Responds to routine inquiries relating to employee policies and programs.

Maintains and updates personnel files and responds to employment verification requests as appropriate.

Maintains UBA AMERICA Employees contact lists.

Works directly with various departmental managers to review/update annual staff job description and KPIs.

Other duties may be assigned like the above consistent with the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position.

MINIMUM SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Law, Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration or related field.

Professional Certification in HR preferred

Minimum of five years of professional HR experience preferably in a Bank, Financial Services Institution or Law firm.

High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint.

Demonstrated ability to conduct research and analysis.

Excellent writing and oral communication skills

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be discreet and treat his/her work as confidential.
