Department Website:
- Completion of an electronic trade school program or journeyman apprenticeship program with a minimum of four years or equivalent work experience.
- A working knowledge of local and national fire protection codes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and one line diagrams.
- Ability to give and follow written and verbal instructions.
- A working knowledge of institutional fire alarm, intrusion alarm, card access and building automation systems
- Ability to set up and use a wide variety of electronic test equipment perhaps unique to the electronic field. (i.e.: digital multimeters, ampmeters, and diagnostics recording meters.
- Ability to serve on rotating on-call teams to respond to after hour emergencies.
Preferred:
- Installation, repair and adjustment of electro-hydraulic and electro-pneumantic door openers.
- Installation, repair and adjustment of various other architectural hardware items.
- A working knowledge of computer software used to control electronic equipment in a building automation environment.
- A working knowledge of Windows NT, 95, and Unix operating systems.
- Electronic maintenance experience in an institutional or University environment.
- Install and make repairs and adjustments to electronic locking system.
- Must possess a valid California Driver License and participate in the DMV Employee Pull Notice program.
- Must be able to operate a facilities Management vehicle.
- Must be available for on-call assignments or alternate work schedule.
- Must be willing to work weekends.
