DescriptionThe Business Systems Analyst 4 works with project teams to develop utility monitoring plan for new construction projects and upgrades. Ensures that utility monitoring systems installed are documented in accordance with business plan.
Archive data from all global programming, graphics, scheduling, historical files, trend files, totalization files, alarm files and operator transaction files. Maintain system-wide security and password protection for the Power Monitoring, SEL, Russell Electric,and Sensus systems.
Utilizes advanced knowledge of business system tools such as Schneider’s Power Monitoring Expert, Sensus’ Regional Network Interface, SEL, and Russell Electric to ensure metering and electric infrastructure is communicating and operating at optimal functionality. Work in collaboration with Utilities Engineer and meter electricians to identify, prioritize, and address meter issues. Propose and implement changes in processes and procedures to metering program.
Verify, develop and maintain documentation of system performance and security criteria. Responsible for PME, SEL, Russell Electric, and Sensus machine operating systems access & security. Provides technical support to CUP and campus personnel and outside contractors when they encounter problems with the existing system communications for power, water, gas, and high voltage network devices.
Meter communications lead with advanced knowledge and experience in Automatic Meter Reading and Advanced Metering Infrastructures. Utilizes advanced knowledge of business system tools such as Schneider’s Power Monitoring Expert and Sensus’ Regional Network Interface to ensure metering infrastructure is communicating and operating at optimal functionality. Manages meter communication matters to resolve issues as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of business and process analysis functions. Advanced ability to program in PME and Sensus systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of related areas of IT. Advanced knowledge of computer and data communication architectures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge relating to the design of processes and software across the organization. to include electric generating units, thermal energy units, and automated electrical ties to campus electrical distribution system.
  • Advanced skills and methodologies associated with process and software design, modification and implementation. Demonstrated skill and knowledge in the use and configuration of meter related software, database management software and management techniques, electronic mail programs and communication software and diagnostic tools. Proven knowledge of software maintenance and data management techniques
  • Demonstrated skills needed to develop process and system implementation plans. Computer networking experience with Ethernet protocol systems
  • Demonstrated experience with process analysis, systems analysis, process architectures and systems analysis methodologies and practices including traditional waterfall, Agile, Agile Scrum, UML, UML Enterprise, et cetera. Advanced knowledge of business and process analysis functions. Knowledge of statistical analysis. Thorough Ability to analyze changes for most appropriate technical solutions and implement approved modifications.
  • Understanding and skill in complex process and systems requirement documentation standards, such as Use Case modeling, User Story creations and narrative description.
  • Advanced knowledge of business processes and procedures. Knowledge of statistical analysis. Thorough Ability to analyze changes for most appropriate technical solutions and implement approved modifications.
  • Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
  • Solid experience with fundamental energy management principles.
  • Solid technical knowledge and experience of current and outdated PC hardware, software, and techniques for troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform computer hardware/software repair.
  • Ability to observe and practice safe working habits and maintains security of buildings and systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Interpersonal and communications skills to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
  • Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Demonstrates problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds. Environment subject to frequently changing priorities & ability to follow through and carry out assignments.

  • DOJ/FBI background check and clearance required prior to employment.
Pay Transparency ActAnnual Full Pay Range: $91,300 - $170,700 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $43.73 - $81.75
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
