DescriptionThe Procedural Treatment Unit (PTU) is a 22-bed unit that covers all pre admissions and post recovery treatment to the four Cardiac ORs and four cath lab and EP labs. Recovers surgical and cath lab patients. Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center PTU (Procedural Treatment Unit) CNIIs provide skilled nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac and surgical procedures.
Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, supports the continuum of care by providing basic patient care and assistance with activities of daily living. Performs uncomplicated technical procedures. Participates in performance improvement activities, such as chart audits. Utilizes a variety of technical equipment and supplies.
Provides basic patient care support: patient transport, specimen and blood and blood products transport, and inventory management. Cross trains to the role of Hospital Unit Secretary. This position requires initiative, the ability to prioritize demands and the ability to work in a team environment. Participates in collaborative team environment, including: training and evaluation of peers; scheduling of work; and assisting the administrative functions of the unit. Job standards are to be performed at the EXPERT level.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be able to work various hours and locations (Hillcrest and La Jolla) based on business needs.
Pay Transparency ActAnnual Full Pay Range: $47,878 - $59,487 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $22.93 - $28.49
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).

- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
- BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
- High school diploma; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated ability to observe deviations from normal.
- Previous acute care experience.
- PACU Experience
- PCIS, UCSD Paging & Scheduling Systems.
- Bilingual: Spanish/English.
- Medical Terminology Certificate.
