UCB is Hiring a Head of Field Reimbursement, Area Director Near Atlanta, GA

Make your mark for patients We are looking for a Head of Field Reimbursement, Area Director who is self-aware, patient centric and collaborative to join us in our Market Access and Affordability Team. This is a field-based position that requires up to 75% daily and overnight travel will cover their respective region, which may include more than one time zone. The preferred candidate resides in any state outside of the Northeast United States.
About The RoleThe Area Director of Field Reimbursement is responsible for overseeing the activities of a group of Field Reimbursement Executives to minimize access and other barriers to UCB medications for patients & providers obtained via a patient’s medical benefit and or pharmacy benefit. The individual must possess the ability to further develop and refine a strong vision and clear objectives for the UCB Field Reimbursement Team as they support patient and account access by providing education on coding, billing, reimbursement, prior authorization policies, Pharmacy and Medical Benefit policies, as well as UCB resources and patient support programs.
Who You’ll Work WithInternally, you will work with stakeholders across Market Access, Sales, the Patient Assistance Program, Marketing, Legal, Learning and Development, Regulatory & Compliance. Externally, you will work with sites of care, patients and their respective payer, specialty pharmacies and pharmacy benefit managers.
What You’ll Do
  • Lead a team of 7-8 Field Reimbursement Executives to align with UCB strategies and support patient access to medications.
  • Develop educational content with Learning & Development to enhance team knowledge on product-specific coverage and payment dynamics.
  • Communicate with cross-functional leadership for feedback and updates on team performance and patient access initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Patient Experience and Value Team to create support tools and resources.
  • Identify and implement business process improvements regarding pharmacy and medical reimbursement issues.
  • Partner with UCB Federal Policy and State Government Affairs Teams on Medicare Part B coverage and reimbursement.
  • Stay updated on Medicare regulations, market trends, and external healthcare environment factors impacting UCB medications.
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA preferred
  • 10 years of commercial experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • 5 years of experience in Healthcare Provider Reimbursement, Payer Relations or Account Management, preferred.
  • Experience in creating and sustaining high performing teams preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of “Buy and Bill” (medical benefit) and “Self-Administered” (pharmacy benefit) specialty medications, including a thorough understanding from a patient, healthcare professional, supply chain and insurance perspective, is required
This positions reasonably anticipated base salary range is $208,000-$273,000 per year. The actual salary offered will take into account internal equity and may also vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
