We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as an Intensive Family Preservation (IFP) Case Worker. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide intensive, home-based intervention services to families for the purpose of preventing child removal and improving parenting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct intakes and comprehensive assessments of families to identify areas of need and develop individualized service plans
- Provide in-home counseling, interventions and support services to families including responding to client crisis calls during work-day and rotating after-hours coverage
- Collaborate with community resources and service providers to ensure families receive necessary support
- Monitor and evaluate progress of families and adjust service plans as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all services provided
- This position requires 20% - 40% travel to client locations and “non-traditional” hours, including evenings and/or weekends based on the family’s needs. Some limited transport of clients may be necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with families in crisis
- Bilingual language skills (Spanish/English)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- CPR certification is required within 4 weeks of hire.
- Knowledge of DCF system and community resources preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
