DescriptionUCFS is looking for candidates who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others! We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as an Intensive Family Preservation (IFP) Case Worker. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide intensive, home-based intervention services to families for the purpose of preventing child removal and improving parenting.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct intakes and comprehensive assessments of families to identify areas of need and develop individualized service plans
  • Provide in-home counseling, interventions and support services to families including responding to client crisis calls during work-day and rotating after-hours coverage
  • Collaborate with community resources and service providers to ensure families receive necessary support
  • Monitor and evaluate progress of families and adjust service plans as needed
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all services provided
  • This position requires 20% - 40% travel to client locations and “non-traditional” hours, including evenings and/or weekends based on the family’s needs. Some limited transport of clients may be necessary.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with families in crisis
  • Bilingual language skills (Spanish/English)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • CPR certification is required within 4 weeks of hire.
  • Knowledge of DCF system and community resources preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
