Job DescriptionJoin a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine, as the Executive Director of System Ambulatory Operations, Cancer Network. We are seeking a visionary cancer services leader with a proven track record in program operations to continue the growth and move in the direction of One UChicago Medicine. The Executive Director will be a strategic operations and finance partner to the Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer of Cancer Services.
The successful candidate will be the administrative lead on the programmatic, operational and financial planning for multiple ambulatory practices across the UChicago Medicine Cancer Network. Reporting to the Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer of Cancer Services, the Executive Director is responsible for cancer services growth across the network and execution of our 5-year cancer strategic plan. The Executive Director should be comfortable diving into the analytics, as well as strategically lead operations and the development of cancer services across the network.
Who You Are
  • Master's degree required in heatlhcare related field, such as MSN, MHA, or MBA
  • 7 years of progressive operational and administrative experience, preferably from a cancer services role held in a large hospital setting.
  • Knowledge and proficiency overseeing ambulatory practice and leading strategic projects.
  • Ability to analyze information, present data, and draw conclusions by applying analysis techniques, using data to drive positive performance.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Prior experience managing large projects and working effectively in multidisciplinary groups .
  • Proven ability to lead change, organize teams, and delegate effectively.

What you’ll do as the Executive Director, System Ambulatory Operations, Cancer Network:
  • Supports the Vice President of Cancer Services in developing the operational direction and vision for the future of the UChicago Medicine Cancer Network.
  • Leads program, operational and financial planning for multiple ambulatory practices.
  • Effectively guides cancer network expansion and integration by working in collaboration with the Vice President of Cancer Services, the Business Development team, Cancer Service Line physician leadership, and the Oncology Network Medical Director.
  • Develops and implements best-in-class operations across the UChicago Medicine Cancer Network, including the development of budgets, financials and long-range planning processes leading to optimal effectiveness, service excellence and clinical quality.
  • Execute 5-year cancer strategic plan by leading workgroups and holding teams accountable for growth with key performance metrics.
  • Foster efforts to positively impact the organization’s visibility, image, and relationship with its surrounding community.
