The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is a registered nurse whose practice is clinical nursing education and who oversees required education, competency, training, and professional development for the ambulatory nursing and medical assistant staff in the UCLA Health system.Encompasses the delivery of clinician (primarily nursing), professional/leadership development, policies, activities, assessment tools, and systems.Promotes excellence in patient care, through skill acquisition in evidence based nursing practice and clinical inquiry.Collaborates with ambulatory nursing leadership (RN Practice Coordinators, Director of Ambulatory Nursing, Ambulatory Nursing Competency Coordinator) and Operational and Physician colleagues to deliver educational programs and secure resources based on needs assessment and adult learning theory.Meets the diverse requirements of the ambulatory nursing for the enterprise, including supporting orientation, patient populations, regulatory and accreditation and strategic goals of the organization/health system.
