Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Under close supervision the Assistant Animal Technician (Cage Wash) performs tasks to support the cage wash areas on campus included but not limited to cage scrapping, cage and accessories washing, and packing.

Salary Range : $19.47 - $25.66 Hourly

Required :

• Ability to lift 50 pound and to push 200-300 pound cage racks of animals.
• Ability to communicate in English, verbally and in writing, accurately and timely
• Basic computer knowledge and skills to complete online training sessions
• Knowledge of and ability to accurately follow all SOPs, Working Instructions, Forms, Training Checklists associated with the cage wash area
• Ability to participate in weekend / Holiday work rotations and occasional overtime duties

Preferred, training will be provided :

• Knowledge of safety practices in the cage wash are including but not limited to ergonomics, thermal and allergy risks.
• Knowledge of all the cage wash areas and the equipment in each of them, sufficient to organize, sort and process soiled items, and pack clean equipment in an efficient and safe manner.
• Knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing materials and techniques sufficient to maintain a healthful environment.
• Ability to maintain records following proper documentation practices
