Role Description

This is a part-time hybrid role for a Medical Scribe at UCLA Health. As a Medical Scribe, you will assist Dr. Robert Suddath, medical director of UCLA's early childhood and child & adolescent partial hospitalization programs, by documenting patient encounters, attending daily clinical rounds, conducting research questionnaires with patients, and assist the full-time medical scribe with administrative tasks. This role is located inside the hospital in Los Angeles, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a healthcare related field, equivalent experience, OR interest in pursuing healthcare-related careers
• Must be a recent graduate. We have wrapped up our hiring for all student roles and will not be accepting applications from full-time students.
• Previous experience as a medical scribe or in a similar role is NOT necessary; we provide all the trainings and would love to hire someone who is eager to learn!
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient computer skills; bonus if you have prior knowledge of electronic medical records systems (but not required)
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
• STRONG interpersonal and organizational skills. Direct communication with patients is not necessarily a part of your job responsibility, but we will only hire those who are comfortable being in a psychiatric milieu.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
• Has a flexible schedule; available to attend morning rounds (which usually occur between 8AM-12PM) as well as afternoon outpatient appointments (4:30PM - 8PM). We have a team of multiple scribes to distribute tasks and we will fully accommodate your personal schedule!
