United Cerebral Palsy of Long Island is looking for an Assistant Controller for our not-for-profit agency located in Hauppauge, NY
Responsibilities:
Manage monthly closings to ensure accuracy, efficiency and completion on a timely basis; review and approve monthly journal entries and account reconciliations; review monthly operating results and analyze significant variances from operating budget to actual; oversee accounts receivable billings, ageing's and cash receipts; oversee vendor invoicing, accounts payable and cash disbursements; develop and manage financial reporting, close books accurately and efficiently and identify opportunities to improve processes through automation, standardization, etc. Ability to effectively manage staff, projects and tasks while adhering to guidelines and deadlines; effectively delegate authority, responsibilities and tasks; manage treasury and cash management functions as assigned; identify and implement workflow efficiencies on a continual basis; assist with Year End audit work papers and CFR preparation; assist in agency budget preparation; responsible for evaluating the performance of personnel in the Accounting Department; perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years prior management experience, with proven effectiveness in empowering staff to make effective decisions. Must have proficient computer skill, including Microsoft Office, and advanced Excel skills; technologically savvy. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
