Learn More Job Opening Summary Under the direction of the director and with the direct supervision of the charge RN, admits and discharges patients from the monitoring system, communicates cardiac rhythms to nursing when requested or when changes occur, and prints and interprets rhythm strips per policy. The monitor technician also maintains continuous monitoring for patients on cardiac telemetry, utilizes a high degree of critical thinking skills to both effectively and appropriately communicate, and manages equipment and alarm settings per policy. Additional responsibilities include billing input for telemetry and/or other patient charges; completing schedules; assigning stations, breaks and lunches; supervising other staff monitor techs; and making sure the department is compliant with all procedures, alerts and alarms. Job Opening QualificationsEducation:
Post-high school training as a paramedic-AD preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
BLS
Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required:
Must be able to read, write in, speak and understand English.
Arrhythmia recognition.
Basic 12-lead EKG and Medical Terminology 1 & 2 (preferred).
Experience: 2 years of experience preferred as a working paramedic.
Other: Demonstrates competency course on hire and annually.
