Learn More Job Opening Summary The Manager, Physician Hospital Organization (PHO) is responsible for providing management direction and focus over the operations of the PHO. The manager develops effective processes; builds and enhances PHO relationships with managed care organizations (MCOs) and providers; and builds the PHO provider network by contracting with high-quality physicians, ancillary providers and service providers across the care continuum. Works with Managed Care to maximize reimbursement and optimize contracting terms for participating providers. Supports the development of data system infrastructure to ensure efficient management and PHO's demonstration of high-quality care, outcomes and maximization of contract bonus potential. Identifies and implements best practices for operations and sharing of knowledge to enhance the service and technical quality of the organization, and works with Managed Care personnel to achieve joint agreement for both hospitals and physician participants. Serves as an operational liaison between Managed Care, payor(s), community physicians, PHO Board Members and the health system providers. Develops and manages required Managed Care-related provider education. Manages operational compliance while maintaining positive relations with payor(s), physicians and other key stakeholders. Licensure/Certification/RegistrationNone Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the physician practice, managed care and/or PHO field.
Must possess the ability to develop creative solutions to problems/issues.
Must be able to exercise independent judgment and apply good organizational skills.
Maintains professionalism with a focus on the customer and makes progress regardless of the situation/environment.
Adapts to change and is flexible when working with some ambiguity.
Superior presentation, oral/written communication, analytical, organizational, interpersonal and negotiation skills are required.
Must be able to read, write in, speak and understand English.
