The ED technician functions under medical direction of the Medical Director and direct supervision of the ED attending physician with general management by the RN. The ED technician provides care for patients in accordance with physician orders, policies, procedures, established standards and administrative policies. Provides direct and indirect patient care while adhering to the mission and objectives of the hospital in order to meet the health care needs of patients and families. The ED technician will be responsible for collecting pertinent data within their certification scope of practice and will report all clinical and psychosocial findings to the RN and ED attending. The ED technician provides clinical support to achieve the organization's mission of excellent patient care and nursing's vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration.
