The Ridge Behavioral Health System is a 110-bed hospital located in the heart of the Bluegrass, Lexington, KY. The Ridge provides psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment for children, adolescents, and adults. The Ridge offers Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient Programs, Individual Counseling, as well as Medication Management for all ages. We have provided behavioral health services to over 92 Kentucky counties for more than 39 years.

The Business Development Liaison / Mobile Assessor provides telephonic, telehealth, and in-person risk assessment, including the history of presenting illness, suicide risks, family dynamics, and supporting psychosocial information. The Business Development Liaison / Mobile Assessor has initial contact with referral sources and potential patients. The Business Development Liaison / Mobile Assessor coordinates the referral and intake process, determines appropriate level of care, facilities the admission process, and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff. The Business Development Business Development Liaison / Mobile Assessor is responsible for maintaining direct communication with the public school system they are representing, facilitate transportation, and coordinate discharge planning; specifically working with the school system to coordinate the return to school. Works with facility leadership to improve internal systems and processes.

The Business Development Liaison / Mobile Assessor is directly responsible for creating demand for the facility’s services through the effective application of ethical marketing principles and sales methods. In collaboration with the Director of Business Development and the Business Development Team, the Business Development Representative presents a positive and professional public image of the facility within the community. The Business Development Liaison / Mobile Assessor is responsible for implementing the facility’s strategic sales plan, enhancing the facility’s brand/image, effectively managing their assigned school system and accounts. This role requires the ability to demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, patience, and dedication in a fast-paced environment. Hours are based on the departmental and facility needs and may include day, evening, and week hours, as directed by the Director of Business Development. Follows and abides by company policies, procedures, and Corporate Compliance Program, as applicable to the roles and responsibilities.

Job Duties Include:

  • Act as liaison between the facility and referral sources and implement service-oriented action plans responsive to referral source needs, serves as a resource and representative to the community, and conducts facility tours to key stakeholders.
  • Performs initial clinical assessment to determine level of care.
  • Coordination and disposition of all referral calls to appropriate level of care.
  • Completion of all admission paperwork.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

Education

  • Master's degree in counseling, Psychology, or Human Services field.

Experience

  • Prior assessment, admission, and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting.
  • Prior marketing and/or sales experience within a behavioral healthcare setting preferred.
  • Three years’ experience and knowledge in mental health.

Certifications/Licensures

  • Certification or licensure in social work or mental health field required, e.g., CSW (with an approved contract with the board of Social Work), LCSW, LPCA, LPCC, etc. required.
  • If employee possesses a LPCA or CSW, then they must have a contractual agreement for supervision. This agreement must be forwarded to HR for placement in their file.
  • Crisis Intervention, CPR, and Assessing & Managing Suicide Risk (AMSR) required. These trainings offered upon hire.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License

Other Skills

  • Knowledge of crisis intervention and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses, basic chemical dependency, and age specific growth and development.
  • Prefer knowledge of The Ridge Behavioral Health marketplace, insurance plans, target markets and referral sources, psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment, and age-specific programming.
  • Demonstrated business development concepts, knowledge of and skills in application of marketing and sales principles; creativity, and flexibility is preferred.
  • Competency in computer usage, and excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Skills in data collection analysis and interpretation, record of adherence to deadlines, customer service skills, and willingness to travel is required.
