UHY LLP, Certified Public Accountants is Hiring a Staff Accountant Near Farmington, MI
Our client based in Farmington Hills, MI, is seeking a Staff Accountant. The position is 100% onsite but offers remote work flexibility when necessary. This role requires expertise in financial reporting, particularly in commercial real estate, and proficiency in CAM Reconciliation. Experience in Landlord/Tenant-oriented commercial real estate is preferred. Ideal candidates should have strong Excel skills and familiarity with real estate accounting systems like Skyline. A degree is not required.
The Staff Accountant role is an onsite position. This is a client direct hire position.
Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
- Reconcile and Enter AP and AR invoices.
- Maintain AR and AP by Customer and Supplier records
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system for ALL AP and AR documentation
- Ensure supplier invoices are paid according to agreed upon terms including taking discounts whenever possible to ensure the company is taking all reasonable discounts on supplier invoices
- Assist in the prompt collection of accounts receivable
- Record cash receipts and make bank deposits as needed
- Assist with monthly reconciliation of bank accounts
- Consistently reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy
- Assemble information for the Controller, CFO or CEO as requested
- Provide administrative, accounting and clerical support to management as requested
Staff Accountant Qualifications:
- Intermediate General Ledger
- Intermediate Accounts Receivable
- Intermediate MS Excel
- Solid knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles
- Ability to Analyze Information, Report Researched Results, Solid Data Entry Skills, Accounting knowledge, Attention to Detail, Confidentiality, Accuracy and Thoroughness
- Knowledge in Real Estate a plus
