Position Summary

THE FOCUS IS YOU: 

Are you ready to step into a dynamic role where you’ll serve as a Client Accounting Manager - Fractional CFO, driving financial excellence and providing advisory services to clients?

As a Client Accounting Manager – Fractional CFO, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely completion of client engagements and you’ll function as an integral component of our clients’ financial operations, overseeing a variety of accounting tasks and offering financial/strategic guidance at the CFO level. Your expertise in accounting principles, accounting technologies, business operations, and client relationships will contribute to the success of the team and the delivery of high-quality accounting services to clients. Our diverse client base includes industries such as healthcare, technology, manufacturing, and real estate.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Regular duties include (but are not limited to):

Accounting Services:

• Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounting tasks typically involved within a monthly financial close, including financial statement preparation
• Coordinate financial close processes, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards
• Facilitate budgeting, financial forecasting, and financial planning activities, collaborating with clients and internal stakeholders
• Analyze financial data, identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement, and provide insights and recommendations to clients and management
• Interface with audit and tax partners

Client Communication and Support:

• Serve as the main point of contact for key clients, building and maintaining strong relationships based on trust and exceptional service
• Understand clients' business objectives, challenges, and requirements, and provide strategic financial advice and solutions
• Address client inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure high levels of client satisfaction
• Communicate financial information, insights, and recommendations to clients, management, and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
• Identify opportunities for upselling or expanding services to address client needs

Team Management:

• Lead and manage a team of accounting professionals, including hiring, training, and performance management
• Set performance goals, provide ongoing feedback and coaching, and conduct regular performance evaluations
• Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, promoting professional growth and knowledge sharing
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, tax, and audit, to ensure effective coordination and delivery of accounting services

Process Improvement and Compliance:

• Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes, systems, and controls to drive efficiency and accuracy
• Implement best practices and streamline workflows to optimize productivity and quality of deliverables
• Stay updated with accounting regulations (U.S. GAAP) and industry trends, implementing changes as necessary
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles (U.S. GAAP), regulations, and client-specific requirements
• Support external audits by providing requested documentation and addressing audit findings
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard client assets and ensure data integrity
• Responsible for billing clients, accounts receivable, maintaining departmental budgets, financial performance, and engagement profitability
• Maintain and drive the achievement of department goals, aligning with the company's strategic vision and ensuring successful outcomes for consulting projects and client engagements

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Required education and experience

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or business
• 5 or more years of relevant Accounting/Finance and management/supervisory experience in public accounting, professional services, corporate or private industry
• Thorough understanding of advanced accounting principles (U.S. GAAP)

Preferred education and experience

• Advanced degree or certifications
• MBA and/or CPA license highly preferred
• Supervisory experience, large staff
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience with and leverage our technology stack including Sage Intacct, Bill.com, QuickBooks Online, and Microsoft Office
