Position Summary
The UIC School of Law, Chicago'sonly public law school, is seeking a highlymotivated and passionate Clinical Professor (75%) & Assistant Dean (25%) forAcademic Achievement, Program Assessment & Bar Preparation to join our team.
This position oversees the academic support and advising programs from newJD student orientation through the bar exam, including direction of academicsupport staff, oversight of programs for students with academic challenges, andcoordination of the Expert Learning and bar preparation courses. Forassessment, the individual directs a staff who assess student progress towardachieving the law school’s student learning outcomes.
Duties & Responsibilities - Clinical Professor (75%):
*Teach law students in the classroom or other settings at the J.D. and master’s levels.
*Engage in internal and external service activities, including attending law school and University meetings, serving on law school and University committees, participating in scholarly organizations or organizations related to the legal profession, delivering presentations, and providing other services to the academy, community, or legal profession.
Duties & Responsibilities – Assistant Dean (25%):
*Coordinating all academic support and advising efforts
*Coordinating and evaluating the effectiveness of the following programs: SCALES (with the Associate Dean for SCALES and Inclusive Excellence), Expert Learning, Mandate Program, Academic Achievement, and Bar Preparation Programs
*Analyzing and evaluating data to determine opportunities to increase student outcomes on the bar exam.
*Supervising staff members in the areas of academic achievement, and bar preparation.
