UIC is Hiring an Associate Director, Rural Health Workforce & Center Development Near Rockford, IL

Position Summary
This position is a key member of the NCRHP leadership team, providing input into the direction, management, and overall operations of the center. The Associate Director will be integrally involved in the day-to-day operations of the center, including center operations, budgetary decision-making, center staffing, center direction, grant writing and implementation, educational initiatives, and development of community partnerships. The scope of the position goes beyond the Rockford campus to statewide, national, and international programs and initiatives. This includes leadership, management, and subcontract negotiations of state and federal grants such as the 6 rural and 2 urban Area Health Education Center Network Program regional sites.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manages the daily business and administrative operations of the National Center for Rural Health Professions, including budgets and personnel. Working to improve operating procedures for optimal efficiency.
  • Co-direct the World Health Organizations/Pan-American Health Organization's Collaborating Centre for Medical Education.
  • Provide consultation and leadership to and for local, state, national, and international public health pipeline activities.
  • Identify potential grant opportunities and assist the National Center for Rural Health Professions staff with grant writing efforts to support new and current Programs (such as RMED).
  • Support student research projects.
  • Manage operations of the grant application process, including leading the multidisciplinary writing team, assuring grant components are addressed per application requirements, and ongoing monitoring of deliverables.
  • Expand and maintain relationships with collaborating hospitals and key community partners throughout the state, nationally, and internationally.
  • Lead community capacity development initiatives to address rural health disparities and improve health outcomes.
