Position Summary This position directs and implements educational programs and services related to providing advocacy for students in distress. Primary responsibilities include developing policies and procedures to support students related to students in crisis, developing and coordinating training for student service units in the colleges and faculty related to students of concern, and university resources directing outreach activities, student engagement, and assessment efforts. Duties & Responsibilities
Case Management and Student Mediation
Work with the university community in the development of programs and services to address student issues and concerns.
Serve in the role of the university's House Liaison to support students in care and housing insecurity.
Coordinate the operations of and serve as a member of the Student Care Team.
Work with the university community in the development of programs and services to address student issues and concerns.
Interpret and inform the university community regarding resources and support coordinated through the Office of the Dean of Students.
Provide case management services to students referred to the Student Care Team.
Leadership, Collaboration, and Consultation
Lead research projects by designing and implementing data collection, analyzing quantitative/qualitative data, and writing reports of findings related to student retention.
Educate staff in the Office of the Dean of Students and key internal partners regarding the research findings to enhance existing practices and understand the impact of current processes and policies on the student experience.
Collaborate with Student Affairs staff, faculty, and the Office of Institutional Research to examine questions and design training that address issues related to the impact of advocacy on student retention.
Advise students regarding university policies and procedures and provide referral services as necessary.
Provide consultative services for faculty, staff, and students related to supporting students.
Outreach/Student Engagement
Collaborate with and develop partnerships with university and external organizations/departments to develop best practices to support students in distress.
Develop and implement workshops, seminars, and presentations to educate students regarding campus departments and supportive services.
Develop online training experiences for students.
Serve as a campus resource for educating students, faculty, and staff on issues related to basic needs and advocacy.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
